A Photo Folio to WordPress

2012 brings a new website and a fresh start.  Why did I make the switch from A Photo Folio to a WordPress site?  Hits.  Traffic.  Stats.  SEO.  Am I an SEO pro?  No, but this screen shot isn’t impressive in my opinion.  What’s the point of people finding me if they already know my name?  I want to attract the attention of potential clients searching for photographers in Florida.  My images were keyworded and meta data was in place.

I switched to A Photo Folio from a Photoshelter site.  It’s a move I regret.  A friend even blogged about my switch.  He predicted it wouldn’t work out.  Flash based websites look beautiful, but for someone like me, doesn’t show up in searches.  The screen shot speaks for itself.  Search engines need text.  I’ll still use Photoshelter to share images in my blog, embed and license.

I look forward to providing a screen shot of stats in the near future with my wordpress site.
