Sports Photographer

Cy Cyr is a sports photographer. He has worked with publications such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, Boating Magazine and more. He has worked with Mercedes, Disney, Troon Golf, Fender Guitars, Novo Nordisk, Southwest Airlines and Golf Channel. He’s able to produce sports photography for advertising, editorial, commercial and non-profit purposes.
Autumn Games recently commissioned Cyr to make portraits of Jimmie Johnson for the cover of his video game Anything with an Engine. Boating Magazine asked him to work on their Swimsuit Edition. Dove commissioned Cyr to work with Shaquille O’Neal.
Cy has been on shoots with sports executives, celebrities, hosts, athletes, TV personalities and more.
Cy’s photography career began in 1996. He started freelancing for the Journal Tribune in his hometown of Biddeford, Maine while still in photography school. He went on to work at the Journal Tribune and covered mostly York County high school sports including hockey, golf, soccer, field hockey, tennis and more.
Bangor Daily News in Maine was the next stop. Cy covered University of Maine and high school sports including hockey, field hockey, basketball, football and volleyball. Cy then freelanced for the Morning Call newspaper in Allentown, Pennsylvania and covered the Penn State University football, pro field hockey, college baseball and NASCAR. Moving to Orlando, Florida brought NASCAR, PGA, LPGA, NCAA, MLB, Champions Tour and NBA assignments. Hundreds of magazines, companies and advertising agencies have called upon his sports photography skills across the country.
Cyr also started a sports photographer agency in 2011. Using his skills and contacts from the last 16 years, he’s able to supply clients around the world with action, portrait and feature sports photographers.
Cy is also a freelance photographer and portrait photographer.
